BEIRUT, LEBANON — A family in Beirut, whose home was badly damaged from the recent massive explosion that devastated Lebanon’s capital, praises God for the urgently needed supplies they received from Samaritan’s Purse, including a tarp and solar lights.
We saw the smoke coming from the balcony. My children and I were afraid. When the explosion happened, we were thrown four meters. I did not think it was an explosion at first. It reminded me of an airstrike.
We came to Lebanon for refuge in 2016. We lived through a lot of things in our country—bombings, airstrikes. We left our country because there was so much war. My kids were playing, then the explosion happened.
God is the one who saved us. He brought us from our country to here. He is even protecting us here. He protected my children in the explosion. Life here is difficult for me and my family. We’re just trying to make it through the situation.
[Samaritan’s Purse] called me and told me they had aid for us. I was so happy to see people who care for us refugees. It makes us happy to see people coming from far away just to help us.
It helps meet the needs of our home. We will use the tarp to cover the balcony for the winter. We can use the light when the electricity is out.
I wish for better days ahead for my family.
God puts good in people’s hearts. They come here to help us and feel our pain. May God bless them for all the work they do.
