LEXINGTON, KY — The Asbury Revival has drawn over 50,000 people from across the country and around the world to the chapel of Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. The New York Times calls it “the nation’s first major spiritual revival in decades — one driven by Gen Z.” This is even more remarkable because Gen Z is widely reported to be the least religious generation in American history.
Since Feb. 8, the Asbury Revival meetings have been characterized by worship, prayer, repentance and personal testimonies. But these individual elements do not adequately convey the Asbury Revival’s power to draw Gen Z Christians and inspire them to take what they have experienced back to their schools, campuses and communities. What has drawn people to the Asbury Revival is the desire to experience the presence and power of God.
Large gatherings inspired by the Asbury Revival have already broken out in many locations, including Cedarville University, Lee University, the University of Oklahoma and in Minneapolis, at the headquarters of Pulse, which aims to bring the hope of Jesus to the next generation — whether it’s through live events or live streams, local revival gatherings, raising up leaders or creating digital resources.
Nick Hall is the president of Pulse and has been a regular participant in the Asbury Revival. When Asbury University decided to limit outside attendance at the Revival meetings, Nick, along with a group of Bible-believing pastors and ministry leaders from across the nation, were prompted to take action: “The moment we’re living in is very significant. Many of us have felt a stirring that what’s happening in the Asbury Revival is just the beginning. We’re praying, ‘God, would you do something big?’”
And so Pulse reserved Rupp Arena, the home of the University of Kentucky Wildcats, Sunday, Feb. 26, from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m., for young adults to gather for what Hall calls “The Positive Disrupption,” a play on the word, “Rupp.”
The time will be led by many of the same people who led the meetings at Asbury and will have the same elements along with connecting students to groups like CRU, the Navigators, InterVarsity, and others who can them help launch movements on their campuses.
Nick calls on pastors, parents, and leaders to send their college-aged kids to Rupp Arena.
“If you’re a pastor, a leader or a parent, my plea is to send your students, send your teens, and your college kids to this meeting. I believe this is a window in time. I don’t think they happen often. I think you have to grab the window. When the wind blows, you don’t analyze the wind — you throw up your sail. I’m inviting you to throw up your sail. We can’t manufacture what God does, but we must be ready to receive it.”
WHAT:
Believing that the Asbury Revival is spreading and it’s time to send a generation to spread the Gospel, Christian Gen Z and Millennial students, young adults and leaders will gather for worship, prayer, confession, repentance, personal testimonies, and practical insight into how to take the power of revival back to their schools, campuses, and communities. It will be very similar in structure to an Asbury Revival meeting.

Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. Eastern time.

Rupp Arena, 430 West Vine Street, Lexington, KY 40507
WHO:
Priority entry will be given to those aged 15-25 and their leaders. Churches have been encouraged to send their teenagers and young adults with their leaders, believing that when they return, the fire of revival will spread.
