One of 200 girls abducted by Boko Haram along with their baby returned to Chibok.

According to NewsWeek, “One of more than 200 schoolgirls abducted by jihadist group Boko Haram from their school in northeast Nigeria’s Chibok in 2014 has been found by soldiers, a Nigerian army spokesman said on Saturday, weeks after the militants released 21 of the girls.”

Boko Haram has been working in order to build an Islamic State in the northern (Christian) part of Nigeria.

BBC explains, “Boko Haram has been fighting a long insurgency in its quest for an Islamic state in northern Nigeria. The conflict is estimated to have killed more than 30,000 people.”

As of October, the government was negotiating with Boko Haram about returning some of the other girls back to Chibok.

According to CNN, “The Nigerian government last month indicated it was negotiating with the terror group for the release of about 83 more girls. The rest — about 113 — have either died, been married off or become radicalized and don’t want to leave their Boko Haram kidnappers, sources told CNN.”

Mission work is difficult with all of the turmoil in the country of Nigeria.

“On top of that, wide cultural differences between predominantly Muslim and Christian areas of Nigeria have created tensions which have escalated into violence on both sides. In some states Christians face intense persecution. Recent attacks by the radical Islamic group Boko Haram targeting Christian churches, have killed hundreds, with Christians retaliating in response.” Please pray that most of the Chibok girls would be returned and that Christian groups would be able to share Christ’s love with their persecutors.
