SHORELINE, WA CRISTA Ministries is mobilizing its disaster response team and partner churches to provide emergency relief to families impacted by Hurricane Helene. The hurricane swept through multiple states, leaving over 100 lives lost, thousands without power, and many more trapped by rising floodwaters. North Carolina has been devastated, with severe flooding turning roads into rivers and cutting off access to basic necessities.

World Concern, one of CRISTA’s five ministries and a trusted name in global relief development, is working with partner churches in North Carolina to deliver emergency supplies, clean water and shelter to the growing number of individuals impacted by Helene’s destruction.

“It is heartbreaking to see what is happening across the country to entire communities as the result of Hurricane Helene. In this time of crisis, we feel we cannot stand idle. We are grateful for the chance to serve with church partners to provide help to those in need,” stated World Concern President Kelli Tolf.

World Concern is also coordinating efforts with another ministry of CRISTA – CRISTA Media – which operates western Washington and southern British Columbia radio stations SPIRIT 105.3, PRAISE 106.5 and KCIS 630. These stations are broadcasting urgent information as to how listeners can provide tangible help to families impacted by the severe flooding.

CRISTA Media Vice President Channah Hanberg added “As part of the CRISTA family of ministries, we are blessed to have a connection to World Concern and their heart to provide disaster response where it is needed around the world. We are honored to have a chance to inform our listeners that there is a way we can help our brothers and sisters in need as they grapple with the impact of this crisis.”
