BEIRUT — Following Beirut’s devastating explosion several recent initiatives have seen SAT-7 staff bring food and water to those continuing the mammoth task of clearing glass and securing buildings, including providing a breakfast to one volunteer group.

Maroun Bou Rached, SAT-7 Lebanon’s Executive Director. explains why their team were preparing breakfast for 250 volunteers of the Offer Joy Association.

Maround Bou Rached – SAT-7 Lebanon Executive Director

It is natural for SAT-7 to be on the ground with people who are need during this situation especially that it goes along with the message of SAT-7 which is to reflect the love of Christ to the people.
And at this very time it is important to show that the love of Christ by being present on the ground helping the people, even if it’s like the widow’s offering. With the little that we have, we at SAT-7, are trying to help.

Today the initiative is to provide breakfast for ‘Offie Joie’ Association, who is offering to help in the restoration of the buildings in Beirut.

Lili Saad – SAT-7 Lebanon HR Supervisor

We offered 250 food portions with drinks and the dessert, so in a way we are extending some support from us with the hashtag #ForBeirut.

Mireille Tannouri – SAT-7 Lebanon Operation Coordinator

The beauty of helping today is the fact that there were many organizations that wanted to offer and help us too even individual initiatives from people who donated funds to support SAT-7 in this humanitarian aid initiative that we’re doing today.
