Hope for Children Provides Free Medical Care to 300 People

BIRTAMOD, NEPAL — On August 30, 2024, the Hope for Children Birtamod Center, in collaboration with Budhabare City Hospital, successfully organized a free medical camp for children and residents of the Birtamod community. This initiative aimed to address current and emerging health issues, promote healthy living among children, and ensure that their education remains uninterrupted by illness. Additionally, the camp sought to educate and counsel parents on the importance of prioritizing their children’s health.

The event was graced by several notable guests, including Mr. Nagendra Prasad Sangroula (Deputy Mayor of Birtamod Municipality), Mr. Om Khadka (Health Department Representative of Birtamod Municipality), Mr. Surya Prasad Kandangwa (Chairman of Ward No. 6, Birtamod Municipality), Mr. Baburam Niraula (Health In-Charge of Health Post Ward No. 6), Rev. Fr. Chitra Kumar Rupacha (Vicar General of Birtamod Diocese), and Dr. Bajrang Lal Yadav (MBBS, T.U.).

During the event, Deputy Mayor Nagendra Prasad Sangroula expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Hope for Children Project, commending the initiative for its positive impact on the community. He also encouraged residents to obtain Health Insurance Cards to take advantage of government healthcare services.

As part of the program, the attending doctors were honored with letters of appreciation for their invaluable service, while the distinguished guests received Tokens of Love as a gesture of gratitude.

The medical camp provided free health check-ups to a total of 300 individuals, including children. The doctors identified several health issues within the community, including:

  • Anemia: 50%
  • Upper Respiratory Tract Infections: 25%
  • Cardiac Diseases: 3 cases
  • Cleft Palate: 2 cases
  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTI): 20%
  • Other conditions: 5%

Following the check-ups, necessary medications were provided at no cost to the participants. The medical team expressed their satisfaction in being part of this significant initiative, while the community members and children extended their thanks to the Hope for Children Project for focusing on their well-being.
