In October of 2016, Hurricane Matthew hit the shore of North Carolina.

According to CNN, “The storm’s US death toll climbed to 21 on Monday, with North Carolina reporting 11 deaths, Florida reporting four, and three each in South Carolina and Georgia.”

Those in the Southeast were ordered to evacuate.

Fox News explains, “An estimated 2 million people in the Southeast were ordered to evacuate their homes as Matthew closed in. By hugging the coast, the storm behaved pretty much as forecasters predicted. A shift of just 20 or 30 miles could have meant widespread devastation.”

The water levels continued to rise, even when it dried up.

The Weather Channel reports, “Though the rain has long since ended, and it should remain dry for many days ahead, rivers are still rising in some locations or will at least remain high for many days.”

Samaritan’s Purse is helping to provide for those in need after Hurricane Matthew.

According to Samaritan’s Purse, “Our disaster relief units—tractor-trailers packed with equipment and supplies—are stocked and ready to roll. Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains are prepared to deploy with our teams.”

Please pray for Samaritan’s Purse as they continue to rebuild the lives of Hurricane Matthew victims. Pray that many would come to know Christ’s hope through their work.
