Resupplying Ukraine’s Hospitals

NORTHERN UKRAINE — Samaritan’s Purse is helping to strengthen the Eastern European country’s medical systems with regular airlifts of supplies aboard their DC-8. They are working with church partners to distribute these items to those in great need.

Dr. Alla MustafaievaVolunteer:

There is war in Ukraine right now. It is very scary. It is really hard to explain what is happening right now. At the start of the Russian aggression, during the first days of the war, many people lost access to hospitals and the pharmacies were closed. The people had no jobs and money to buy medications. A lot of people need psychiatric services. We’ve started providing medical care and medications for the refugees.

Halyna RomanenkoDirector, Makariv Central District Hospital:

We really need this help right now given this very difficult situation in Ukraine. We can’t buy many of the drugs and surgical consumables. We need these here, but we also distribute these supplies to hospitals in occupied places.

Dr. Alla:

Now here at the church, we need medicines to send to the front line of the war, and we are distributing one pallet of medicines, pillows, and instruments to Makariv Hospital.

Dr. Tamara LatiukVolunteer:

There was an absolutely catastrophic shortage of medical supplies. Samaritan’s Purse provided a lot of these, and often. Your support with the medical supplies helped us to stock surgical supplies, IV and infusion equipment, and equipment to prepare medicines was very helpful.
