In the month of September, three Catholic Priests were slain in two different states.

According to Fox News, “The Archdiocese of Morelia in western Mexico says a priest kidnapped a week ago has been found slain.”

That same night, authorities in another part of Mexico, found two other priests killed.

Daily News reports, “Lopez was kidnapped last Monday, the same day authorities in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz found the bodies of two priests who had been abducted from their parish residence the previous day. They also had been shot.”

These senseless murders are not isolated incidents. They have been caused by drug related violence.

Reuters explains, “The murder comes after a decade of drug violence in Mexico that has frequently touched the Roman Catholic church, with 31 priests killed in the 10 years to 2015, according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide, a rights group.”

In the meantime, Audio Scripture has been sharing Christ’s love with the Mixteco people by providing them with audio scripture.

According to an interview with Jim Loker with Audio Scriptures explains to Mission Network News, “For a quarter of a century we have been reaching the unreached, but never had we witnessed that sacred moment when the very first believer catches the vision for reaching his unsaved neighbors. Last month, we experienced the humble privilege of viewing this magical transformation right at the crossroads to a village with no Christian witness. It is no exaggeration to say that it felt like we were standing on holy ground.”

Audio Scriptures continues to reach out to the people of Mexico with the Good News.

Please pray for the families of these slain priests, that they would be comforted. Please pray for the Audio Scriptures ministry to the Mixteco, that many would come to know the Lord from the audio recordings.
