CINCINNATI – Prior to the fall semester, 7 Hills Church collected and donated 2,013 new backpacks to 91 local schools and organizations in the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky area.
All backpacks collected by 7 Hills Church were bought new and donated by the congregation throughout the summer and then delivered the week of August 9. 7 Hills Church followed up the donation week with “Back to School Prayer,” hosted Sunday, Aug. 15. The morning service featured worship and prayer on behalf of students, parents, teachers, faculty and staff of local schools.
“Our youth is the future of our communities, and their education is vital to the growth and development of that future,” said Pastor Marcus Mecum. “But this past year has been hard on families. Our hope is that these backpacks will ease a burden and give families in our community the opportunity to thrive for the glory of God this school year.”
