Relief for Alabama Tornado Victims

Samaritan’s Purse volunteers in Alabama, are helping to remove debris and patch roofs following the destruction caused by a deadly tornado

FULTONDALE, AL — Samaritan’s Purse volunteers in Jefferson County, Alabama, are helping to remove debris and patch roofs following the destruction caused by a deadly tornado.

Elizabeth Burford, Homeowner:

It was awful. It was a roaring sound. And it’s just something you can’t hardly describe, really. A lot of wind and it was just terrible. And I said, “Oh God, keep me safe. Keep me safe, dear God. Please keep me safe because,” I said, “I want to be around for my boys.”

Peter Baergen, Samaritan’s Purse:

In Jefferson County, Alabama, beginning of this week, a devastating tornado ripped through the small communities of Fultondale and Center Point. There was loss of life, many injuries. A lot of people here now with nowhere to go and needing help. Samaritan’s Purse is here helping homeowners like Elizabeth– tarping roofs, removing water- damaged contents from homes, cutting trees, and doing whatever we can to serve these folks in Jesus’ Name.

Elizabeth Burford:

The Samaritan’s Purse volunteers, they’ve been wonderful. They’ve been here, and they’ve been a blessing to me. I just don’t know how to thank them. They’re all just great. They’re just wonderful people.

Peter Baergen:

As our volunteers go out to serve, we need your prayers. We need your support as we help these folks in Jesus’ Name.
