Relief for Hurricane-struck Pine Island, Florida

PINE ISLAND, FL — Florida Pastor Randy accompanies Convoy of Hope team to bring relief, supplies, and hope to residents of Pine Island, devastated by Hurricane Ian.

Pastor Randy:

This is the largest Island of Florida. But it’s really not a tourist spot, there’s no beach area.

You see the poles that are bent that way? That’s the second half of the storm. One’s that are bent this way is the first time. We see our whole island right in the middle of that and it was 30 miles in diameter.

To know the number of dead might take a while to know, who’s missing, who’s here. We got this much water and that’s it. We have this much food and that’s it.

We alone, with no understanding and what hope there is or anything, and it can be so discouraging. Loneliness is so discouraging and I don’t know how we’re going to get through this, how we are going to fix things. And without this help, we would be desperate right now. The Convoy of Hope is one those that brings great hope. You guys give us hope. And how can we bring food to all these people?

Their cars are flooded, they can’t drive anywhere so we got to go to them. We just go knock on their door, see if they’re home, and then just try to give them good news. We got to do it soon because they may be running out.

The role of the Church is to gather people and to make it our rule that we are people helping people, people first. Yeah, help people. You just help people. Whoever who needs it. Be a blessing.

Look at the truckload of stuff that are coming in. The joy we have of giving it to people. Thank you for letting us do that.
