Standing with Ukrainian Churches in Ministry to Refugees

UKRAINE — Slavic Gospel Association is continuing to help resource churches across Ukraine as they provide vital aid and transportation to rescue countless families trapped in the conflict there. SGA’s President Michael Johnson explains how they’re standing with the Baptist Union of Churches of Ukraine.

As the conflict continues to devastate countless lives across Ukraine, the Slavic Gospel Association is working closely with churches across the country to provide aid and rescue families trapped in the worst affected areas.

Here Ukrainian refugees are worshipping in a church building in Poland where they are being housed through SGA’s partners.

The charity’s President Michael Johnson shares the determination of the Baptist churches they’re supporting.

The Ukrainian Baptist Union leaders are steadfast in their recognition of the fact that this opens up an opportunity for them to be lights in this situation. And the President of the Baptist Union is not going to leave because he’s willing to die for his country because he does not want to see the next generation to be subject to what they anticipate would happen in the event that Putin prevails.

And SGA will continue to stand alongside those who are sharing the hope of Christ in these desperate times.

About Slavic Gospel Association

Founded in 1934, Slavic Gospel Association (SGA, www.sga.org) helps “forgotten” orphans, widows and families in Russia, the former Soviet countries of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Russian-speaking immigrants in Israel – caring for their physical needs and sharing the life-transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ. SGA supports an extensive grassroots network of local evangelical missionary pastors and churches in cities and rural villages across this vast region.
