Thankful for a New Home in Ukraine

UKRAINE — Kateryna praises God for the Samaritan’s Purse workers who put windows in her home and a new roof on it, giving her a safe place to live after a missile destroyed her house in Ukraine.

KaterynaUkrainian Homeowner:

At first there was nothing, it was a normal day. It then turned into war. We were bombed. Missiles flew over us. We fell to the floor. We were scared. I asked God to help us, to allow us to survive and live. We left on the 14th of March at around 10:00 am. And we heard that around 2:00 pm our house was hit by a missile. I believe God protected us. We had the feeling that we should leave.

Had we waited a few hours, we would have been dead. Everything is broken. One barn remained, the one for the chickens and goats. We are surviving trying to set up everything to live there. The suitcase we brought is all we have left. When people like you come I feel a lightness, a lightness in my soul.

OleksanderSamaritans Purse Partner:

In the Bible, Jesus Christ tells us to help those in need. Our relationship with Samaritans Purse is a partnership. We work together to help people and remind them of Jesus Christ the He is our Savior. We tell them that with God nothing is impossible.

Kateryna:

They completely replaced my roof, and they put windows in the barn. We could not of done this ourselves. I believe in God and that He helps us. It believe it with all my soul. I want to live even if it’s in a barn. It’s sometimes difficult to be joyful, but I just am. I look forward to continuing to live as many years as God allows us to live.
