Clean Water for Ukraine

Samaritan's Purse water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) teams are setting up reverse osmosis machines in key locations through Ukraine.

UKRAINE — Samaritan’s Purse water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) teams are setting up reverse osmosis machines in key locations through Ukraine to provide clean drinking water for tens of thousands of people every day.

Anatolii NosachSamaritan’s Purse:

WASH team in Ukraine is one of the projects of Samaritan Purse responding to this war situation in Ukraine, and we are trying to find places in Ukraine that need clean water, drinking water. One of the main places in our country now is the city of Mykolaiv. Russian troops had broken the water supply to the city over a month ago. When we learned about that need, the only solution in this situation was to provide them with a reverse osmosis system. They brought it to Mykolaiv, and it’s already working.

Katelyn Holmberg – Samaritan’s Purse:

This is a reverse osmosis machine. It takes water which is brackish or salty, and purifies it so that it can be drinking water. With this machine, we can produce 18,000 liters per day, which services about 3,600 people per day. We’re deploying several of these units in our target regions to get as much clean water as possible for people in need. By deploying these systems, by training individuals to operate them, and by partnering with brave individuals still in those regions, we can provide clean water for people who are affected by this conflict.

Anatolii:

We are very excited about it because we can provide not just physical water, but the Church will be able to provide spiritual water and help the people who will be coming there; and we would like to thank Samaritan’s Purse and all of the donors for this help they are providing our country.
