Helping Sudanese Refugees in Egypt

Christian charity Help The Persecuted has helped Sudanese refugees who have fled the conflict in their country to start new lives in Egypt.

EGYPT — Christian charity Help The Persecuted has helped more than 950 Sudanese refugees who have fled the conflict in their country to start new lives in Egypt. As well as providing medical help, food and water they are sharing the hope of Christ and offering prayers for everyone they help.

As thousands continue to flee the conflict in Sudan, Christian charity Help the Persecuted has helped more than 950 refugees who have crossed the border into Egypt in desperate need.

Their field ministry team set up a medical centre at a bus station near the city of Aswan, while also providing food supplies, water, bathroom facilities, Christian literature and spiritual support.

The charities Daniel Twy says some of their team took great risks to serve as they face continued persecution for their faith.

Not only they are persecuted and not only they are threatened, they even had to relocate and move out of the country because of death threats.

It was really moving to see the team fearlessly serving among the Sudanese and in Egypt because they came back and they wanted to serve.

Despite these challenges, Daniel says they’ve used every opportunity to share the hope of Christ with many broken lives.

I remember a lady that shared, “I lost everything. All that is left is broken. And who can fix my soul.” “That was something that we could share and say that Jesus Christ will fix your soul.”

And help the persecuted will continue to provide ongoing support to the many hundreds of people arriving into Egypt in search of a new life.
