UKRAINE —Kseniya, a Ukrainian mother, shares the terror she and her family experienced during recent bombings. Samaritan’s Purse is helping to provide food for Kseniya and other families in the war-torn country.

KseniyaUkrainian Mother:

Our ears popped and buzzed. We were sitting in the cellar when the cellar shuddered. You can’t mistake explosions for anything. We cried and prayed to stay alive.

They had never seen their mother cry. They said, “Are you crying mom?”. I was very worried about them. My daughter drew a picture and said: “Mom look, a beautiful drawing!” I said, “Yes, but what is it? So big, birds or something?” She said, “It is us running to the cellar and rockets flying.” I said, “Oh, such big rockets.” These are the memories she will have of the war.

Samaritan purse working here. We give them food and help people survive in war. Jesus said for his disciples, “You give them food.” It was his command. And we understand this command in wartime now. It’s like directly command for us. We encourage them today to say that we are with them. They are not forgot from us and from God. And it’s a big privilege for us to work and help these people in their need and give them hope that God remembers them and God loves them.
