Prestonwood Baptist Church sees 1,500 students attend ‘Freedom WKND’

Prestonwood Baptist Church’s “Freedom WKND,” hosted over 1,500 with 46 individuals committing to pursuing full-time ministry.

PLANO, TX — Prestonwood Baptist Church’s “Freedom WKND,” hosted by their student ministry, hosted over 1,500 with 46 individuals committing to pursuing full-time ministry in some capacity.

Prestonwood hosts Freedom WKND every year for students to engage in healthy dialogue and hear from experts on issues relevant to their daily lives, make friends and spend time in worship. This year, students heard from Marquise Cox, Tasha Calvert, Rob Wilton and more.

Even with inclement weather requiring last-minute changes, Freedom WKND saw over 1,500 people in attendance, with 46 students committing to full-time ministry and 28 choosing to be baptized onsite. For those interested in pursuing a career in ministry, Prestonwood has created a program to assist students and walk them through the process.

“God is on the move in this generation! We witnessed God work mightily through salvation, baptisms and sanctifying of his people, ” said NextGen Pastor Jason Mick. “We continue to pray and walk alongside our students and staff as they invest in the lives of one another, and the kingdom of God grows.”
