Mohabat TV Receives International Impact Award

NASHVILLE – Mohabat TV, the media arm of Heart4Iran, has received the highly-coveted 2018 International Impact Award from the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) at their annual convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

Mohabat TV and Heart4Iran work in collaboration with more than 80 other ministries to spread the Gospel in the Middle East. The satellite TV network is aimed primarily toward the Farsi speaking populations of Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan.

“Mohabat” means “agape love.”

The majority of mainstream media news about Iran is focused on political, military, and economic issues. This is especially true relative to Iran’s relationship to Russia, it’s potential for building a nuclear arsenal, and its threats against Israel. Even faith-based media tends to focus on reports of persecution of Christians in Iran.

The good news is that, according to World Mission, the Church seems to be growing faster in Iran than anywhere else in the entire world. Dr. Michael Ansari, President of Heart4Iran, said “Jesus is building His church . . . transforming lives, and the Gospel is on the move.” He added that “Christian satellite TV broadcasts into Iran have played a vital role.”

Mohabat TV began broadcasting in 2006. The ministry receives about 700 calls per day from its largely Muslim broadcasting area. More than 90 people per day have been making the decision to follow Jesus.

Ansari believes that “the people of Iran are disillusioned with Islam and they are looking for answers to life.” They are not finding those answers in the Quran and the faith of their ancestors.

Although it is impossible to share the Gospel by traditional and conventional means, young adults in Iran are tech savvy. They are searching for answers by plugging into technology that was unavailable to previous generations. Satellite TV offers the additional advantage of being impervious to being blocked by groups averse to Christianity.

God always brings calm to the midst of the storm. This seems to be the situation amid the continuing chaos and unrest in Iran.
