In December of 2016, a shallow 7.7 earthquake hit Southern Chile.

According to CNN, “A magnitude 7.7 earthquake occurred off the coast of southern Chile Sunday, 40 km (about 25 miles) southwest of Puerto Quellon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.”

This triggered a tsunami warning in Southern Chile.

The Los Angeles Times reports, “Chile’s naval oceanographic service declared a preventative tsunami alert and officials began evacuating coastal areas in the southern part of the country, the Associated Press reported.”

There were no structural damages to any of the buildings reported.

According to The Sun, “‘There was a lot, a lot of movement here, but besides that nothing of note, there weren’t houses falling,’ Vera said.”

Chile Mission is sharing Christ’s hope with the people of Chile, especially the children.

Chile Mission explains their mission statement is, “Sent out by the Church…. to reach people, and especially children, with the love of Jesus, that they might know and follow him.”

Please pray for Chile Mission, that they would be able to bring the hope of Christ and many would come to know the Lord through them.
