In early December, there was an earthquake that hit the Aceh Province in Indonesia.

According to Fox News, “Maj. Gen. Tatang Sulaiman, chief of the army in Aceh province, said at least 97 died while four people were pulled from the rubble alive. Another four or five are known to be buried, but he didn’t say if they are dead or alive.”

This destroyed building such as mosques and market places in the Aceh province.

CNN reports, “The shallow 6.5-magnitude quake damaged homes, shops and mosques in the district of Pidie Jaya, completely destroying hundreds of structures.”

The Indonesian President said he would travel to those areas most affected by the earthquakes.

ABC News explains, “Indonesian President Joko Widodo said senior members of his staff would travel to the areas worst-hit by the quake.”

Christian Aid trains up native missionaries who know the language and culture of the people in order to share Christ’s love with the people of their country.

Per ChristianAid, “By partnering with Christian Aid Mission, you partner with a growing army of local believers around the globe who are planting churches in some of the most difficult places for the gospel today. In the midst of hardship, wars, natural disasters, and poverty, these native missionaries are working toward our shared goal: to establish a witness for Christ in every nation.”

Christian Aid is working in Indonesia to bring Christ’s hope to the people there. They do this in a variety of ways, including providing an education to the poor.

Christian Aid explains, “‘Providing this help builds a great bridge to share the gospel with them and their families,’ he said. ‘There are many more children that we could reach. For example, at the Besakih Temple in Besakih, on Mt. Agung, a village of 1,000 kids, none of them have ever attended school. We would love to double this to 50 children that we would help.’”

Please pray for the earthquake relief and that God would use this to bring many to Himself. Pray for Christian Aid as they continue to work in Indonesia, that many would come to know the Lord through the schools. Please pray for Christian Aid, that as they  share Christ’s love to those who don’t know Christ’s hope.
