Gospel for Asia Founder, K.P. Yohannan on Hurricane Harvey – “Please pray and do all you can…”

Hurricane Harvey-Yohannan
Hurricane Harvey from space

K.P. Yohannan, founder and director of Gospel for Asia (GFA) in Wills Point, TX asked donors and supporters of the nonprofit to pray and do all they could for those in Hurricane Harvey’s path.

Hurricane Harvey transformed into tropical storm and along Texas coast

Yohannan, pleaded with many to take time to pray. Now is the time to minister to the needs of the suffering and to unite with nonprofits to meet those needs. Interestingly, although he founded Gospel for Asia (GFA), KP urged many to get involved with other ministries who are serving in Texas. GFA’s home office is located in Texas more than four hours from Houston.

Here are a few of the ways for us to pray for Hurricane Harvey victims:

+ Pray that God will intervene

+ Pray the various disaster relief organizations like Samaritan’s PurseWorld Vision USA and Texas Baptist Men would be able to minister to the needs they see

+ Pray for protection and grace for those still in the path of the storm

+ Pray people would know that Jesus really does care

Here are some ways to get involved in helping those impacted by Hurricane Harvey:

Samaritan’s Purse is hard at work serving the people impacted by the hurricane: Donate to help their relief efforts

World Vision is serving the people of Texas: Donate to help World Vision

World Vision shared, “We’ve been responding to emergencies in the U.S. for decades,” says Reed Slattery, World Vision’s national program director for the United States. “But it looks like Harvey is going to pack a big punch when it hits Texas. We want to make sure to get these relief supplies down there as quickly as possible to help the children and families affected by this storm.”

Texas Baptist Men are also serving in the Houston and Rockport areas of Texas to meet the needs of those impacted by the hurricane.

Thank you for taking the time to join Gospel for Asia, K.P. Yohannan and others around the world to pray for the people of Texas and those in Harvey’s path.
