The Summit’s convening co-chairs, former U.S. Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom Sam Brownback and former United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) Chair Dr. Katrina Lantos Swett, had this to say about the announcement:

“We are honored to welcome Mike Pence, a man of genuine, deep faith and a great ally in the fight to ensure the basic right for everyone, everywhere to exercise their conscience rights. We are grateful he would lend his leadership and influence in support of our growing global movement.”

The IRF Summit will be held January 30-31 at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C.

The Summit is supported by dozens of diverse partners, including the Religious Freedom Institute, Lantos Foundation, International Campaign for Tibet, Multifaith Neighbors Network, Aspen Institute Religion and Society Program, ADF International, Meta, and the International Republican Institute, among others. The IRF Summit aims to bring greater attention to religious freedom violations and to create a powerful and diverse coalition of groups to advance the cause of religious freedom around the world.
