Revival at Asbury University Continues

WILMORE, KY — The revival at Asbury university in Kentucky is has continued for weeks, and is attracting national and global attention. Thousands of people are traveling from around the country to join in this move of god.

Wendy Griffith of CBN news traveled to Wilmore, Kentucky, and talked to students who say they just didn’t want to leave the revival meeting. And they explain how God has ministered to them.

This revival is officially in overflow mode –look at this line behind me, about a half mile long – folks from all over the country, waiting patiently to get into Hughes auditorium here at Asbury University to experience this historic revival for themselves…

Andrew HagerLexington, Kentucky:

God is here – God is here and He’s working right now, come and get you some, you hear me..

29-year-old Joao Pires drove all the way from Florida to ask god a simple question.

Joao PiresFlorida:

I came here and I’m like Lord, if you want me to go back to preaching, if you want me to plant this church that I’ve had in my heart for years to plant I need someone to prophecy over me right now.

Joao’s prayer was answered when he ran into a well known local preacher.

Joao:

He prays over me and he literally declares what I’ve been praying over my life.

Jeff Gossman with regent university drove 10 hours from Virginia beach after hearing about what God is doing here.

Dr. Jeff GossmanRegent Univ. Dir. Campus Ministries:

Well everybody at Regent right now, including all the executive vice presidents, are all crying out for revival – they’re having extra prayer services over there right now , they want the presence of the Lord on campus so we’re just so thankful that they sent us here to get whatever we can to bring back.”

On Thursday, the persistent rains did not dampen spirits for those waiting to get inside…

Mark VaughtCincinnati, Ohio:

“When I was saved I got the Holy Spirit, but always looking for more and really hoping when I walk through the doors, it’s poured out on me.”

21-year-old student body president Allison Perfater was there when revival broke out.

Allison PerfaterStudent Body President:

“you just didn’t want leave, it’s not that anyone was saying oh let’s see how long we can last, we just didn’t want to go. I came in, I had a lot of anger issues and I really struggled with my anger and I was able to talk with God first ….that never would have happened on my own time.

Daniel Moye24-year-old Asbury Seminary student:

“It’s been a really hard couple of years, and not just for me but a lot of my friends, and I just felt like the Lord was releasing me from a lot of bitterness and anger that I’ve had just about all kinds of stuff, even some of it towards God and so I would say for me personally, the biggest word I can use is that it’s been a very, very healing experience for me.”

So how do you explain what’s happening here at asbury? I would just say there’s a tangible presence of God’s peace, joy and a freedom to worship and adore the one true God.
