SAT-7 Supports Afghan Christians in Danger from Taliban

SAT-7's Persian language television station is providing special broadcasts to help Afghan Christians in danger from Taliban.

KABUL, AFGHANISTAN — Underground Afghan Christians are fearing for their lives as the Taliban is going door to door looking for believers who have the Bible on their phones. In response SAT-7’s Persian language television station is providing special broadcasts to help the believers in this troubled region. SAT-7 PARS is also running emergency on-screen text, calling Persian-speakers to prayer, on all its broadcasts and social media platforms.

A media ministry helping persecuted Christians in Afghanistan says the Taliban is executing believers who refuse to renounce their faith. SAT-7’s Christian television and media network is responding to the Taliban takeover with special programming on SAT-7 PARS, its Persian language channel

Panayiotis Keenan, SAT-7 PARS Director,

We are doing our best to address this situation. I mean the Taliban are promising that life will continue as normal. But we all know that will not happen. We have Christians in Afghanistan who came to Christ because of SAT-7 Pars who are contacting us because they are fearing that they will be eliminated because they are receiving death threats because the Taliban know who are the Christians.

And we continue to have people 24/7 responding to any kind of requests that these people have.

And SAT-7 PARS will soon be broadcasting an exclusive program to encourage their viewers in this troubled region called In Pursuit of Hope.
