Homeowners in New York give thanks for the Samaritan’s Purse volunteers who are helping to clean up after floods swept through the area

HIGHLAND FALLS, NY — Homeowners in Highland Falls, New York, give thanks for the Samaritan’s Purse volunteers who are helping to clean up their homes after massive flash floods swept through the area.

Jason SantiagoHomeowner:

There was water running on this main road, like swimming pools and rocks were coming down. Water that rose so fast and took over everything.

Brian FredricksonHomeowner:

You just watch a house get swept away. It’s just a surreal moment. You just don’t know what to feel at that time.

Lyle RobbinsSamaritan’s Purse:

Today in Highland Falls, we’re working on two different houses that had mud and debris that came from runoff. So we’re doing debris removal, mudding out.

Susan DeciccoVolunteer:

It’s amazing to be able to help people in the community who have had such a great loss, be able to share some of Jesus’ love with them while we help them clean up their property. Whatever it takes to get their home back in order.

Lyle:

Every time we have an interaction with our homeowners, we have an opportunity to share with them the love of Christ.

Aisa VollanuevaVolunteer:

To do this work in Jesus’ name, I’m so grateful I can do it, and to do it with other believers and my church members, it is the greatest honor.

Jason:

The Samaritan’s Purse are phenomenal people, willing to do whatever we need to help. It just goes a long way. God bless that you have people that way, an organization that way that can help people like me or people in this town. I’m grateful for all the help that Samaritan’s Purse is bringing, blessed.

Brian:

In a time where you know it’s like you gotta deal with insurance companies and everything else, to have something steady there is what really is Samaritan’s Purse is about. It’s to take away some of that stress when you’re going through this situation.

Jason:

We can’t thank you enough for what you did to our house and our home. Although we have a lot of uncertainty going forward, we know the Lord and that He will have some plan for us going forward and that this is just one step towards it.
