PORTLAND, OR — In a massive effort to share hope with millions around the world during this pandemic, the Luis Palau Association will host a global festival on May 30, 2020. This online event, called Stories of Hope: An Online Festival Experience, will be led by Andrew Palau and his wife, Wendy. It will feature some of the biggest names in Christian music and several well-known celebrities, sharing their own personal stories of hope during this global crisis. The one-hour program will air on Facebook, Instagram, and on hope.palau.org, premiering at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific), 8:00 p.m. (Eastern).
The festival will feature music from Hillsong United, TobyMac, Tasha Cobbs, Kari Jobe & Cody Carnes, and Latin duo Tercer Cielo. It will also include testimonies from five-time World Series champion Mariano Rivera, Superbowl champion Tony Dungy, baseball MVP Clayton Kershaw, ‘The Bachelor’s’ Savannah McKinley, CrossFit world champion Rich Froning, and others. All leading up to a powerful message of Good News from Andrew Palau.
The vision—just like live Palau Festivals—is for believers to use this event as a tool to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with their friends and family. The Palau team has already enlisted the partnership of hundreds of churches and non-profit organizations, including America Prays, Go2020, Pulse, Way FM, Need Him, Trans World Radio, Outreach, and National Day of Prayer.
“Now more than ever people around the world are hungry for hope,” shared Andrew Palau. “And just because we are physically distant from one another doesn’t mean we can’t come together—in a sense—in a powerful way, to share the hope of Jesus with those in need.”
Using Palau’s Hope with God platform (www.facebook.com/hopewithgodpage) with its nearly 20 million online followers, the team is prayerful that this event will encourage and inspire millions around the world and lead many to respond to the clear Gospel presentation.
With the Palau Association’s vigorous international travel on hold amidst the current worldwide pandemic, the team is channeling its resources and experience to multi-media platforms. In the last month alone, it has hosted a massive personal evangelism training called Reaching Your World: How to Share Hope During Social Distancing and an online Easter event that reached tens of thousands of individuals. And excitedly, the Palau team has seen the number of online decisions for Jesus more than double through their Hope with God website and social media community since the COVID-19 outbreak began.
