Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Hosts UK Evangelism Summits

LIVERPOOL ENGLAND — As churches continue to look at ways to minister the hope of the Gospel in their communities in the midst of the pandemic the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is hosting a series of evangelism summits across the UK.

GNA reporter Peter Wooding went to the Liverpool Summit in the North West of England and spoke to local Christian leaders about the significance of this event.

A special gathering of Christian leaders is bringing believers together for Evangelism Summits in four cities across Scotland, England, and Wales. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is offering the events to encourage church leaders during these times filled with uncertainty, and to support and equip Christians who want to see how they can effectively share the hope of the Gospel in their community.

At the second summit which took place in Liverpool in the North West of England these local church and ministry leaders shared why an event like this is so significant at this time.

Mark SaundersEvangelist at Maitland Church:

People are losing jobs, people are losing relatives. The Gospel is good news. I believe now we haven’t seen for years there’s a real openness.

Shapoor AhmadiFrontline Iranian Church:

To share the Gospel and how to get equipped to evangelize because people are dying because of the pandemic, because of Corona because of their lack of knowing Jesus Christ.

Rev Chris Mercer TurnerSt Pauls Seacombe:

I just believe we should be lifelong evangelists. I was involved in 1984 as a counselor on the field of Anfield. I went to share and lead people to Christ. I was a young Christian then and had just given my life to the Lord and joined the team on the Billy Graham mission in 1984 and I’ve served the Lord ever since with joy and to be here today is fantastic.

And the final UK Evangelism Summit will take place in London on Nov 15th.
