TIMIȘOARA, ROMANIA — The evangelical project Superbook continues to awaken children’s and parents’ interest across Romania and beyond. Throughout the years, this project has contributed to children’s education and it has helped them understand the Word of God from an early age. We’ll find out the details from the following report.
For several years, Alfa Omega TV has been investing resources in the development of the children’s project Superbook. Hence, the young generations can discover the Bible in an intriguing manner, tailored to their age. Through modern graphics and the animated cartoons ‘Superbook’, Christian values are taught to children.
Mirabela Dragomir, project coordinator of Superbook Romania:
There’s a variety of cartoons that exist in our day and age that our children can watch, both on Youtube, as well as on other channels. But many of them may have hidden messages, with pagan ideology that are placed in our children’s minds without them realizing it or often, without the parents realizing it. I recommend Superbook because these cartoons are safe from this point of view.
Superbook is a beneficial tool in the education of children, especially in a time where violence, immorality and undervaluing are promoted.
Cristi Popa, prezbiter, Agape Church Timișoara:
My grandparents were the ones who taught me the first steps and look how the seed that was sown bore fruit after many years. Statistics show that teaching children from the ages of 5, 6, and 7 years to the age of 10 years is a seed sown, and sooner or later, it will bear fruit.
Valentina, Agape Church Timișoara:
I love children and I would like to be part of that generation that sows seeds and witnesses results later.
Ovidiu Boghian, Reșița:
It has a very important role, in many areas, even in education. Many times, I saw in her behavior things she had previously watched in the cartoons and it helped her behave properly, in day to day life.
Mirabela Dragomir, project coordinator of Superbook for Romania:
We organize camps for children from unfavorable environments and placement centers. For the first time we used the cartoons Superbook to educate the children.
The animated cartoons, Superbook can be watched with the family or at church. For several years, the Christian Center Timișoara and the Agape Church Timișoara have organized events around the 1st of June, National Children’s Day.
Ramona Matei-Olariu, Christian Center Timișoara:
It’s an extraordinary tool for children and we hope, as the Church of God, to use every resource on hand to touch the hearts of children with God’s principles, with His Gospel. We are very, very delighted with the Superbook project and everything it has to offer.
Cristi Popa, prezbiter, Agape Church Timișoara:
We are organising the 8th edition and we see a fantastic growth. We started with 50-60 people and we now reached 250 people, children. I believe that there is a major interest from them and ourselves, as a church. We really wish to answer this need.
Ovidiu Boghian, Reșița:
We are from Reșița and I came together with my wife and my two children, Shiloh and Noah. We found out about this on the internet. My daughter saw them on the internet, she follows and watches the Superbook a lot, she loves it. She implored us to come here, and we wanted to surprise her so we came.
Cristian, Nerău, County Timiș:
My boy is very passionate about Memo and especially of the Old Testament. We thank God! He’s also very interested in Moises.
Mihaela, Nerău, County Timiș:
I saw that they are influenced in a very positive way by the messages from the cartoons and we are happy to watch them. Thank you for everything!
Cezar Dragotoniu, Dumbrăvița, County Timiș:
I think it’s setting the foundation, maybe momentarily it doesn’t look like it, because they are very excited and it is an event in which they eat sweets and run around. But I believe it’s familiarizing them and setting down good groundwork.
The children participated in games, they sang and watched an episode from the Superbook.
Irina, Timișoara:
My name is Irina and I am six years old. I came with my sister who is eight years old and her name is Ale, but you can call her Alexandra. I came with my parents.
Alexandra, Timișoara:
My name is Alexandra, I am eight years old, and it was about how to help your neighbor, that it is important to be generous and to learn from your parents a lot of things about Lord Jesus.
Shiloh Boghian, Reșița:
I like Superbook a lot because the cartoons are very cool and I can learn a lot of things. My favorite character is Oana.
Rebeca, Dumbrăvița, County Timiș:
‘Adam and Eve’ is my favorite episode because I like how God throws out the snake.
Rebeca, Nerău, County Timiș:
From the cartoons I learned how to behave, I learned how to control my behavior and I learned a lot of new things.
The animated cartoons Superbook addresses children regardless of their denomination, and they are even used in religion classes which are taught in schools.
Mirabela Dragomir, project coordinator of Superbook for Romania:
I know that we had feedback from priests and from teachers that teach orthodox religion in schools, and use cartoons from Superbook in the religion classes.
Till now, Alfa Omega TV, in collaboration with the Christian media organization CBN, have produced four seasons containing fifteen episodes each of Superbook in Romanian and they are preparing for season 5, which will include sixteen episodes.
Mirabela Dragomir, project coordinator of Superbook for Romania:
In this new season, we observe that Cristi and Oana have matured a bit, and view things from a different perspective.
For several years, Superbook has been streaming on television channels but also on social media outlets such as Facebook, Instagram and Youtube.
Mirabela Dragomir, project coordinator of Superbook for Romania:
Right now on Facebook, we have around 13,000 followers. We receive messages from children who watched these cartoons and were touched and changed by the Gospel’s message presented in the cartoons. On YouTube we have over 122,000 followers, it’s a big number, and there we have made available all the episodes from Season 1 and 2, for free.
From the beginning of the project, Alfa Omega TV is collaborating with local churches in organizing evangelical events for children.
Ramona Matei-Olariu, Christian Center Timișoara:
This collaboration is special. Whenever we wanted to organize something we received support, materials, stickers, books. They actually taught us everything we needed to do in order for this event to be successful. We thank everyone who got involved from the bottom of our hearts!
