MONGOLIA — Erdembayar, a boy in Mongolia, tired easily and couldn’t participate in physical activities with his friends. After he underwent heart surgery arranged by Samaritan’s Purse, he gained new energy and could actively play like other kids.
More importantly, he and his mother both trusted Christ as their Savior. Now, Erdembayar wants to become a pastor and share the Gospel with others.
Erdembayar – Heart surgery recipient:
My name is Erdembayar. I live in Bayandun, Mongolia.
Dolgor – Erdembayar’s Mother:
Erdembayar is my youngest child. He is my fifth child. After he was born I would hear a strange sound while he nursed. When he was about 3 months old we visited a doctor due to a chronic cough. The doctor checked his heart, and he heard something he had not heard in a long time.
He said something was wrong with his heart. We traveled to the center of the province for another checkup. That is when we were told Erdembayar had a hole in his heart.
Erdembayar:
It was difficult to wake up tired and then go to school tired. I did not have have good overnight sleep. This was due to my heart condition. I was at a routine checkup at the main hospital with my father when the doctor told us that there was a children’s project. They told us that I could be treated at a hospital abroad. We were really excited when we heard that news.
Zaya – Interpreter Children’s Heart Project:
I went to the United State with Erdembayar and his mother. The surgery was successful but the most important part was to see them both accept Christ as their savior.
Erdembayar:
I tell my friends about my heart surgery. I also share Jesus with them. I am so grateful to God and I want to obey his commandment to share the Good News. This is why I want to become a pastor. I am also very happy that I can now run and play with my friends. Being able to do all that makes me happy. I want to thank everyone, those who prayed and helped with financial support.
I feel to indebted and I will never forget your good deeds. Thank you so much.
Zaya:
There are still many kids in Mongolia who need surgery and accept Christ as their Savior. So we ask you for your help and prayers. And thank you God bless you.
