Prayer for disaster victims of Hurricane Helene and Nepal flooding

WILLS POINT, TX — We’re heartbroken by the trail of devastation Hurricane Helene left in the southeastern U.S. The storm took the lives of more than 130 people across North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Virginia. It also swept away homes and businesses and left millions of people without electricity.

We know that hundreds of our GFA family members, our ministry friends and partners, have been impacted. You, too, may have lost loved ones or watched them suffer loss in this disaster. We are praying for all those struggling through recovery.

The same weekend Hurricane Helene raged through the Southeast, the people of Nepal also experienced devastation and loss. Monsoon-triggered flooding and landslides barreled through the country, especially the Kathmandu valley, killing more than 190 people and inundating homes, hospitals and markets. Thousands of people need food and shelter, and GFA missionaries are already working to provide relief.

In the aftermath of these disasters, we know that God is good, mighty and compassionate. We know that He is near to the brokenhearted. Would you please join us in praying for all those affected by these disasters in the U.S. and in Nepal?

Ask God to guide and bless rescue and relief efforts, that He will protect the lives of those urgently in need of safety, water, food and shelter.
Pray for the Body of Christ to shine His light amidst the darkness of loss.
Pray that He will equip organizations providing relief in the U.S., such as our friends at Samaritan’s Purse and Texans on Mission. Also pray for GFA’s workers in Nepal as they provide food and assistance.
Pray for comfort for those who have lost loved ones, homes or livelihoods. Ask the Lord to shower them with His grace and provision and walk with them on the road to restoration.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer for the people affected by Hurricane Helene and the people of Nepal. We trust that the Lord will show Himself mighty to aid them and surround them with His steadfast love.
