CALCUTTA – A crowd of an estimated 70,000 attended an anti-terrorism, pro-Israel rally in Calcutta on February 15th.
Speakers discussed a range of topics that centered on the problem of recent Iranian terrorism against Israel, citing is as an indication of things to come as Islamic terrorists are increasing acts of aggression in India, especially in the state of West Bengal that borders Muslim-dominated Bangladesh.
Banners in the crowd included, “Jerusalem: Eternal Capital of Israel.”
The rally promoted moving the Indian Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem to “honor Israel’s long-standing commitment to peace and strengthen the bond between our two ancient peoples.”
One speaker said that Zionism is an inspiration for those in India who desire to eliminate caste discrimination and innovate for a better future. He said that, “At a time when anti-Semitism is on the rise in Europe and Islamic terrorism threatens Jews and Israelis, hundreds of millions of Indians stand with Israel.”
