Leading Cause of Death in 2018 Kills 42 Million

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the leading cause of death in the world in 2018 claimed the lives of 42 million people. That’s more than the number who died from cancer, malaria, HIV/AIDS, smoking, alcohol, and traffic accidents combined.

Worldometers estimates that there was a total of 59 million deaths globally during the past year.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the leading cause of death in the world in 2018 claimed the lives of 42 million people: Abortion.

The startling statistic is that those 42 million deaths are in addition to the 59 million. Simple mathematics (42 + 59 = 101) helps us understand that 42 million is also nearly 42% of all people who died in 2018.

What is this epidemic that is claiming the lives of so many?

It is abortion – and the epidemic is so great that the number of babies intentionally murdered by abortion was five times greater than the number of people whose lives were claimed by cancer.

Babies were aborted at a rate of 10 per 33 live births. In addition, 23% of all pregnancies were intentionally ended by abortion.

The abortion number is incomprehensible, but each of those 42 million abortions represents a living human being whose life was violently destroyed in their mother’s womb. Each unborn baby already had their own unique DNA, making them distinct from their mother. That DNA indicated if the child was a boy or girl, their eye and hair color, their height, possible genetic disorders and other disabilities, and much more. In most cases, the unborn babies’ hearts are beating when they are aborted, too. – LifeNews.com

An estimated 60 million babies have been aborted in the United States since Roe v. Wade in 1973. Nearly one million babies are aborted every year in the U.S.

Exacerbating Abortion in Congress

The new Democrat-majority Congress has prepared its spending bill for ending the partial government shutdown. They have included in the bill a provision that will repeal the ban on NGOs from providing or promoting abortions. That ban was implemented shortly after the Republican administration took office in 2017.

The Students for Life of America is pleading with members of both parties to reject any form of abortion funding in the U.S. or anywhere else in the world.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, a pro-life advocate has warned that the hidden repeal is an attempt to “foist a radical pro-abortion agenda on the nation [and would] make taxpayers complicit in the . . . abortion and destruction of countless unborn children.”
