Samaritan’s Purse is helping to meet the overwhelming physical and spiritual needs of thousands of migrants, Venezuelans in crisis who are daily entering Colombia. This may be the largest migrant crisis in Latin American history, and they’re offering relief from multiple locations—providing overnight shelter, hygiene kits, food, and primary medical care. As they serve, they are pointing people, young and old, to the eternal hope found only in Jesus Christ. Through this response, many are gladly placing their faith in Him.

Thousands of Venezuelans are crossing the border every single day to reach different destinations, whether it is here in Colombia or to other countries, like Chile, Ecuador, and Peru. We are providing them with shelter, food, and medical care.

Alcides, a Venezuelan Migrant says:

I’ve been walking for 10 days, fighting for my wife and two kids. I’ve got to keep fighting so my family doesn’t suffer. I’m in a lot of pain. My feet are swollen. It’s hard to walk. There’s never an easy day. It’s so hard and intense because we have to sleep on the streets. If it weren’t for you, who knows what would have happened to us.

Mileydis, a medical clinic patient:

There is no medicine in Venezuela. The hospitals are closed. There are a lot of children who’ve died. I came across the border with my two little girls because my youngest daughter has been very sick with a high fever. And they gave us medicine. I think Samaritan’s Purse is so nice. They do a great job. Thank you for everything.
