1,500 Sudanese Refugees Receive Winter Gifts of Love in Egypt

EGYPT — While millions of Sudanese refugees have fled the conflict in their country for Egypt, many persecuted Christians are receiving support to start new lives there thanks to a Christian ministry there. When they arrive they literally have nothing, but this winter Help The Persecuted provided hot meals, warm coats and Christian literature for 1,500 refugees during a church Christmas celebration day.

This Christmas persecuted Christians in the Islamic world received vital winter supplies while also being encouraged with the hope of Christ, thanks to the ministry Help The Persecuted and their Winter Relief Outreaches.

In Egypt, the Help The Persecuted team regularly helps Sudanese Christians who have fled the conflict in Sudan. This Christmas they hosted a day long celebration as they ministered and provided practical support.

We’re here outside a church getting ready to provide winter relief and hot meals for 1,500 Sudanese refugees. Behind me they’re going to be about 500 children celebrating Christmas today and then at the same time receiving Christmas gifts. This is all part of the work of Help The Persecuted that is not just providing a one off events like this today but long term support rescuing, restoring and rebuilding the lives of people particularly persecuted Christians that not just fled persecution for their beliefs in their home countries, but conflict as well. So today is going to bring some joy to 1,500 Sudanese refugees.

And throughout the day there were powerful times of worship, Bible teaching and Gospel presentations. And everyone of the 1,000 adults and 500 children received hot meals, warm coats and Christian literature.

And this Christmas Help The Persecuted ensured tens of thousands of persecuted Christians received winter supplies from coats and shoes to hot meals, and emergency relief kits, while also supporting local churches in the Islamic World to celebrate Christmas and share the real reason for the season – Jesus.
