BEE World – Shepherding the Shepherds

BEE World exists to address a growing world crisis, ministries suffering leadership crisis because pastoral training is limited & unavailable

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – BEE World (Bible Evangelism by Extension) exists to address a growing world crisis. With Christianity growing in countries with limited access to the Gospel, ministries are suffering a leadership crisis because seminary-level pastoral training is not only limited but often not available.

The Crisis

“There are an estimated five million untrained pastors in the world, and that number is growing because the church is growing.”

In the 10/40 Window alone, resident Bible schools are unable to meet even 50% of the need. One Asian country in the 10/40 Window has fewer than one trained pastor per 60,000 professing believers.

BEE World understands that, unless pastors are trained to shepherd their flocks, the crisis could easily become one where the blind are leading the blind. The effectiveness of the BEE World initiative was eloquently expressed by an Asian pastor who has been trained through the program.

“BEE World has changed me and the way I teach generally and preach the Gospel particularly. Formerly I majored in emotion. Now I have truth as my base. Formerly I preached and believed many ‘half-truths’ without any scriptural basis. Now, I have a better idea of what the Bible really says and can be firm in that. Now I can teach something solid, not just get emotional.”

The BEE World Solution

Over the past 40 years, BEE World has developed and refined a training method they call Facilitation. By replacing the lecture style of teaching with a mentoring mode, teaching teams participate interactively with pastors and aspiring Christian leaders.

This method replaces memorization with the critical skills of observation, interpretation, and application necessary for effective inductive Bible study and the proper exposition of Scripture. Unless and until Christians master and engrain these skills, regardless of where they live, they are liable to simply accept what others have told them as true.

The BEE strategy guides students on how to find the truths in the Bible by properly using and rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

The BEE World Curriculum

When students learn by using the interactive curriculum, they readily recognize that Biblical understanding becomes much more transferable. Not only do the students prosper from their study, but they are also equipped to shepherd their flocks more effectively by using the same facilitative method. This is the mode that Paul taught Timothy, as recorded in 2 Timothy 2:2.

“And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

The Outcome

BEE World is now witnessing third, fourth, five, and more generations of discipleship and spiritual growth through shepherds who are feeding their flocks and equipping more shepherds to effectively share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
