UGANDA — Recently, unlike other church worship days, Christians gathered at the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) exhibition center were determined to break the Guinness World Record for the longest applause.
Every Sunday, Ministerios Internacionales Fanero, a prominent Ugandan church, attracts thousands of faithful to its vibrant services, filled with the Holy Spirit.
Recently, unlike other worship days, Christians gathered at the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) exhibition center were determined to break the Guinness World Record for the longest applause.
The Apostle Grace Lubega, senior pastor of Fanero, addressed the congregation in a challenge called “Applause for Jesus”. The attendees at the church followed strict rules established by the Guinness World Record team, maintaining continuous applause at a sound level of 80 decibels. It was prohibited to make vocal noises, use musical instruments, and take breaks to go to the bathroom. All participants applauded at the same time. A panel of independent referees carefully supervised the development of the test to ensure that all participants followed the guidelines.
Apostle Grace Lubega – Ministerios Internacionales Fanero:
“YouTube is a secular platform, but we use it to preach the Gospel. Facebook is a secular platform, but we use it to preach the Gospel. The Guinness World Records book is a secular platform, but we can also use it to preach the Gospel because if someone reads it and sees that the longest applause is in the name of Jesus, they may wonder why?”
After an incredible 3 hours and 16 minutes of continuous applause, the room erupted in cheers of joy. The Fanero Ministry had set a new world record. The previous longest applause session was 2 hours and 5 minutes.
