LIBERIA — Pastor Alex Gbaqurende Teh praises God for the remarkable restoration Samaritan’s Purse did to restore his community’s church building in Liberia that had fallen into disrepair.
The church means a whole lot to the community. This is our mission, go ye into the world to preach to all nations and bring them, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Rev. Alex Gbaqurende Teh – Mercy Temple Church of God in Christ:
The Word of God and the church are very important because they transform the life of the people. Samaritan’s Purse came to renew the church buildings that were very deplorable. And then this is what makes me happy today. And the whole communities was happy to see that the church was being renewed. The church, it was very old. The roof was falling in, but now it becomes new and modern.
Rev. Isaac Kollie – St. Thomas Episcopal Church:
The Samaritan’s Purse people love God and they love the scripture and they want the scripture to be spread throughout the length and breadth of Liberia. And this is why they have decided to bring this up. Samaritan’s Purse is doing a great work in this community.
Daniel Ruiz – Samaritan’s Purse:
God works in and through the church to be salt and light without representation, ambassadors of Christ. The community remains in darkness. Samaritan’s Purse, our mission is that we serve the church worldwide. We want to partner with them, and ultimately, through our engagement in the community, we want to see the church rise up to be a mechanism for transformation through the gospel.
We’ve inaugurated the building and handed the keys over to the pastor and the congregation. This structure really will be an incredible tool that they can use to allow that light to shine.
