ADDIS ABABA, ETHIOPIA — Crowds of 437,000 gathered in Meskel Square earlier this month in Ethiopia’s capital city of Addis Ababa for one of the largest evangelistic outreach in the country’s history.
The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association reports more than 4,000 people made commitments to Christ during the two-day Encountering God outreach with evangelist Franklin Graham.

Crowds gathered in Meskel Square in Addis Ababa for one of the largest evangelistic events in the country’s history.
The Encountering God outreach featured live music from more than a dozen local musical groups and Christian artists from the United States and a message from the Bible from Franklin Graham.
The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association reports more than 4,000 people made commitments to Christ.

Samaritan’s Purse has a long history in Ethiopia, dating back nearly four decades to when the organization began installing freshwater wells and instituting agriculture programs during widespread drought and famine.
