DHAKA, BANGLADESH — On August 27, 2024, a Hope for Children Center under the Diocese of Dhaka organized an impactful awareness session on personal hygiene and nutrition for pregnant women and young mothers in Balapara village. The event saw the active participation of 60 women, who gathered to learn essential practices for their health and well-being.
The session provided valuable guidance on various critical topics, including the importance of regular medical checkups during pregnancy, the appropriate medications to be taken, and the types of foods beneficial during and after pregnancy. Participants were also educated on safe physical activities during pregnancy, the significance of maintaining cleanliness, proper breastfeeding techniques, and the importance of timely vaccination and immunization for their children.
Lija Akter, one of the attendees, expressed her gratitude, stating, “It’s such a great initiative to organize an awareness program that improves people’s lives. We are happy and grateful to Hope for Children for helping and supporting needy women through such activities.”
This program exemplifies the ongoing commitment of the church to support and uplift the vulnerable members of the community, ensuring that mothers and their children receive the care and knowledge they need for a healthy future.
