This morning [Friday], Hurricane Florence reached the coast of North Carolina as a Category 1 storm, quickly flooding many coastal areas in North Carolina.

Five deaths have been reported due to trees collapsing and other incidents. Thankfully most people had already evacuated and further evacuations and rescues are taking place
While meteorologists say that Hurricane Florence has dropped to the level of a tropical storm, they expect the storm to continue on into next week. The storm is now moving in land through the Carolinas and up through the eastern states. Heavy rain and flooding is expected in many areas.
Please pray for the those affected by Hurricane Florence:
- Pray those in the storm’s path are able to find safe shelter
- Pray for those who have lost a loved one, that they find comfort in this time of loss
- Pray that the storm continues to die down and is not as severe as expected
- Pray for the safety of those who are helping with relief efforts.
