This initiative is a critical component of the NHCLC’s Center for Ministerial Health (CMH), which addresses the comprehensive well-being of pastors through five foundational pillars: physical, spiritual, mental, financial, and relational health. The Mental Health Initiative focuses on the mental health pillar, providing essential support and resources tailored to the unique needs of Latino leaders and pastors.

The launch event will feature the unveiling of this historic initiative, led by Pastor Reina Olmeda, the Mental Health Initiative Director and a distinguished psychotherapist. Pastor Reina is dedicated to guiding Latino pastors and leaders through a transformative journey toward enhanced mental well-being so that they can become champions of mental health for future leaders.

“I am committed to uniting pastors and leaders for a transformative journey towards mental well-being,” Pastor Reina stated. “Together we will break barriers and strengthen our mental health. Let us continue to be the light that brings hope, healing, and strength to our communities.”

Pastor Samuel Rodriguez, President of NHCLC, emphasized the significance of the initiative, noting, “This Mental Health Initiative represents a monumental step forward in supporting our Latino leaders. By prioritizing mental health and building strong support networks, we are not only investing in the well-being of our leaders but also in the vitality of our entire community.”

Dr. Carlos Campo, CEO of Museum of the Bible, also praised the initiative, stating, “Mental health is a critical aspect of overall well-being, and by providing tailored resources and support, we are taking significant strides towards healing and empowerment for Latino leaders. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier community.”

This launch represents a significant step forward in addressing the mental health needs of Latino evangelical leaders and marks a historic moment for the community. NHCLC invites all pastors, leaders, collaborators, and partners to join this momentous event and contribute to the ongoing mission of enhancing the well-being of Latino pastoral leadership.
