Project of Love in the DRC

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO — The Samaritan’s Purse Agape program is providing clean water and food for displaced people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Jean LambertProgram Manager:

The Agape Program started in March of 2023. It is a multi-sectoral project; we have the WASH sector, in which we have constructed latrines. We have constructed water points in two schools at the Simbilyabo Health Area.

The goal of this project is to help people who have been displaced by war for their autonomy. For these reasons, we have the aspects of subsistence in which we have revenue generating activities and also agriculture activities on marketing gardening.

So it is a project of love, and the population is very happy. They have water to drink, they have latrines. Now they can’t catch diseases because the project constructed beautiful latrines, and they are very happy. This is why we are here.

Eduige Dheve:

We are surprised that God did a miracle in sending you to help us. They are nourishing us with the Word of God and they are nourishing us with physical food.

Jean:

And we thank the leaders of Samaritan’s Purse DRC and all the Agape Project colleagues – it is a small team but if you see all they have accomplished, you would say “Bravo!” Thank you very much!
