UKRAINE —Samaritan’s Purse is providing warming centers in Ukraine where people can come to get warm, gain access to news, charge their phones, eat a hot meal, and find shelter during bombings.
Ryan Lane – Samaritan’s Purse:
Samaritan’s Purse is here in southeastern Ukraine, and indeed, all across the country, setting up warming centers like the one you see behind me. They are essential to the ability of the Ukrainians to be able to survive and thrive throughout the course of a difficult winter. The heat, the electricity, the light, the availability of internet and television news are all essential.
The Ukrainians actually call places like this points of invincibility, because it represents to them the resilience that is required to continue to move forward and to survive and to thrive in the midst of these very difficult circumstances that have been put forward.
These centers are places where people can congregate, where they can stay warm, they can have access to news, they can have a hot cup of coffee, they can get a hot meal if they need, even a bed if necessary for the night.
We have children that come here in order to ensure that they’re able to continue attending school remotely and have electricity and internet.
They can survive through bombings in the shelter and they can ensure that they and their families are safe.
This is just one of the many ways in which Samaritan’s Purse is supporting needful individuals all across Ukraine in the name of Jesus. We thank you for your support and urge you to continue to pray for Ukraine and the people who are in crisis here.
