SOUTH SUDAN – Every Village’s radio network supports the work of long-term missionaries, broadcasting the gospel and community development teaching through solar-powered, hand-held radios distributed in local communities. As a result of this they are seeing remarkable community transformation across South Sudan.

Christian charity Every Village is on a mission to bring transformation to every community across South Sudan through gospel radio and community development.

As the country continues to reel from extreme poverty Every Village’s Brad Beless says as they broadcast the Gospel there’s a huge need to distribute thousands of solar powered radios so they can increase the reach of their programming:

“People don’t typically have a car to listen to radio in or even the hand held radios are quite expensive and not common. So we see these hand held radios as a means of enabling communities to actually receive the information that we’re putting out on the radio waves. And so two maybe three times a year we will help organise a radio distribution in our various locations to where we’ll bring batches of 5,750 maybe 10,000 radios.”

Beless concluded by sharing their vision to expand their ministry so they can fulfill their goal to transform every village across South Sudan.

“Right now we have three operating radio towers and studios with those and we do have vision to expand ideally as our name implies we would hope to see that every village in South Sudan has coverage of our radio network. That will obviously take many years and our ultimate goal is to establish a South Sudanese network so that every village in South Sudan can be saturated with this.”
