CHARLOTTE, USA — In 2012, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association launched Search for Jesus as a ministry where website users could not only find the truth of the Gospel but also interact with trained volunteers to ask questions or to be discipled. Today, PeaceWithGod.net websites have had over 100 million visitors. GNA spoke to the BGEA’s Director of Internet Evangelism Mark Appleton

Search for Jesus, the internet evangelism ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association marked a milestone this month as it reached its tenth year of impacting the world online. Today, PeaceWithGod.net websites have had over 100 million visitors with 18 million of those making decisions for Christ.

Mark Appleton, director of internet evangelism for BGEA says a key part of this remarkable response is due to their team of online volunteers:

We have an army of volunteers, over 1,400 volunteers serving out 17 countries right now, who we select, train, equip, oversee them doing ministry on these websites. So they’re chatting with people, they’re using Facebook messenger, Whatsapp messages, they’re answering messages, discipling people in online discipleship courses. So taking them through our site and walking them through the process, inviting them to respond to the Gospel, showing them how to walk with God and then trying to encourage them into a local church.

And the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is calling for more volunteers to enable them to continue to reach as many people online as possible across the Globe.
