Thankful for Clean Water in Carriacou

CARRIACOU — Selma Cahhiste gives thanks for the fresh, clean water Samaritan’s Purse is providing residents of Carriacou after Hurricane Beryl heavily damaged the island’s water supply.

Selma Cahhiste:

Many hurricanes before, not like this one. This one is the worst ever past. I don’t have a house right now, everything washed away. I don’t have nothing.

Happy AkasiePastor:

My name is Happy Akasie, and I’m the senior pastor of Thy Kingdom Come Deliverance Sanctuary. The hurricane hit. Samaritan’s Purse was the first organization to land here with relief material. I never thought the day’s going to come in Carriacou . I’m homeless in Carriacou. You know, so you can imagine how some people feel. So we’re bringing Christ to them. So we really trust in God that, you know, people get hope. And they know that God still love them. We’re so glad to partner with Samaritan’s Purse.

Selma:

I’m very, very happy to get this water to cook and to drink. If we didn’t have this water, I don’t know what would have become of us.
