KYIV, UKRAINE — What does a Ukrainian congregation do when missile attacks knock out the electric power? It can become a time of miracles, as seen in this story of a prayer retreat in Ukraine organized by the Kyiv Jewish Messianic Congregation last August.
Boris Grisenko – Senior Rabbi of KJMC:
And then the Lord will demonstrate…
Can you hear me now without the microphone at the back?
Yes!
Boris:
The battle healing ministry is about to begin!
So, you should close the ear with which you can hear well, if you are deaf in one ear, or if you have trouble hearing with one ear. Now, I will say one short phrase – two words, and you, if you hear with the ear that was deaf or did not hear well, after I say this phrase, boldly, then, after a moment, repeat it loudly. This does not apply to those who have good hearing in both ears, only if you are deaf or hard of hearing in one ear. The good ear should have been closed tightly. And now, in the name of Yeshua – “Rejoice in the Lord!” If you heard with one or both ears, repeat it loudly.
Rejoice in the Lord!
On the second day of the Prayer Retreat, August 26, Ukraine experienced one of the most massive missile attacks ever, over 200 air targets were shot down. Because of this, power outages started. Despite the heat of + 35C (+95F), the air conditioners in the room were not working and the power was out, the Lord worked powerfully during the entire retreat and worked many miracles!
About KJMC
Kiev Jewish Messianic Congregation (KJMC) was born shortly after first Festival of Jewish Music and Dance, organized by the mission “Hear, O Israel!” (Jonathan Bernis), which took place in Ukraine in 1994. Boris Grisenko has been the rabbi (pastor) of KJMC from the very beginning. Rabbi Boris was also the Vice Chairman of the Ukrainian Interchurch Council and holds an Honorary Doctorate in Theology from CLST (Christian Life School of Theology). KJMC has grown over the years and today numbers more than 2,000 people. The congregation is comprised of Jews and non-Jews, all of whom have accepted the Lord Yeshua ha’Mashiach (Jesus Christ).
The KJMC vision is focused largely on the revival of the Jewish people, including:
- So that every Jew would know his Messiah
- The unity in the Body of the Messiah to be restored
- To break free of non-Biblical extremes of Judaism and Christianity
- To bring about freedom from antisemitism, indifference, and other non-Biblical attitudes as well as freedom from Humanism and occult spirituality
