ROLLING FORK, MISSISSIPPI — Dozens of Samaritan’s Purse volunteers are assisting homeowners in Rolling Fork and in Amory, Mississippi, where a long band of powerful thunderstorms, spawning multiple tornadoes, carved a 100-mile path of destruction across the Magnolia State March 24, damaging and destroying hundreds of homes and knocking out power across Mississippi.
Kathy Martin – Homeowner:
You sit down and you just think, where do I even start. I didn’t even know where to begin to clean. It’s just so much.
Pastor Jimmy Mclendon – Lake Washington First Baptist Church:
On Friday evening, we had a catastrophic tornado. We were able to provide a place where Samaritan’s Purse could come in and use this as a staging ground for the work they’re gonna do in the areas of Rolling Fork, Silver City, and wherever else is needed.
The Lord just tells us that we’re to love God and love one another and part of that is is just reaching out at times of need and right now our community has been devastated.
It’s a great place to come and right now we need all the help we can get and so we would love for you to come and join us and join through Samaritan’s Purse.
Kathy:
What y’all do is just wonderful. I want everybody to know about you because it’s a blessing to anybody that needs help. I just don’t know how to thank y’all enough. It’s just not words enough to say.
But thank you, yeah. That’s the biggest thing. Thank you so much. Because I don’t think I could have done it without you.
