GRAND RAPIDS, MI — According to a 2020 LifeWay Research study, 57% of Protestant churchgoers say they find it challenging to make sense of the Bible when they read it on their own. To help bring scriptural clarity out of that confusion, Bible Gateway, the most visited Christian website in the world, is sponsoring the free “30 Days to Understanding the Bible” Online Bible Study with pastor and author Max Anders September 14–October 30, 2020. Free registration for the event is here.
In this series of videos, released one per week for six weeks, Anders will present his simplified arc of Bible history to help participants visualize the Bible’s overarching themes, a three-minute summary of the Bible’s uniform storyline from Genesis to Revelation, and the 10 core beliefs that Christians have adhered to for the last 2,000 years. Students of the series will easily learn the Bible’s structure on their way to understanding the Bible’s message.
“If you want to learn architecture, you must first learn how buildings are put together,” says Anders. “And if you want to learn to understand the Bible, you must first learn how the Bible is put together. The problem most of us have with the Bible is that we started out studying the details without ever getting the big picture. It’s no wonder we’re confused!”

Students of this series will gain automatic free access to Anders’ online video presentation and exclusive bonus content, including a digital download of the Arc of Bible History worksheet, overview study sheets of the Old and Testament, first chapter of the “30 Days to Understanding the Bible Study Guide,” and a free download of the “30 Days to Understanding the Bible” Study Session One audio Bible study. The teaching videos will be available online for free September 14–October 30, 2020.
Dr. Max Anders is the author of more than 25 books and is the creator and general editor of the 32-volume Holman Bible Commentary series.
